Semirog & Vasilyev LLP has designed special fee arrangements to accommodate clients who may find typical hourly billing unworkable given their particular circumstances. These fee arrangements may take the form of flat fees, contingency fees, or success-based (holdback) fees.

Flat Fee

Flat fees are arrangements where Semirog & Vasilyev handles a particular matter for a flat or fixed fee that does not change regardless of how much time our attorneys spend on that matter. Flat fees may also be appropriate for a group of matters for the same client. A variation of a flat fee arrangement is a flat monthly fee with or without an overall cap.

Contingency Fee

Contingency fee is an arrangement in which Semirog & Vasilyev receives a percentage of the recovery in a law suite on behalf of a client. Typically, clients pay expenses in connection with the litigation, although we may discuss sharing the expenses as well, depending on the particular situation. A variation of this fee arrangement is where Semirog & Vasilyev receive a portion of a fee (either as a flat fee or traditional hourly rate) and a smaller percentage of any recovery.

Success-based (Holdback) Fee

This type of fee arrangement involves paying an upfront portion of the fee and the rest is withheld contingent upon successful resolution of the matter. If the matter is resolved successfully, Semirog & Vasilyev receives an agreed upon “success” fee.
